MEET CHRIS FISCHER

A VISIONARY LEADER COMMITTED TO OAKLAND PARK

Chris Fischer, a dedicated community leader, has been a reliable voice and bridge for his Oakland Park neighbors since relocating here in 2016. A proud Floridian, he has spent the last four years advocating for neighborhoods and pushing for progress in City Commission meetings. As a three-term member of the Oakland Park Planning and Zoning Board and a 2023 graduate of the city's Local Government Academy, Chris is well-prepared to serve his community further..

As President of the Corals of Oakland Park Neighborhood Association, Chris has fostered connections between residents and local businesses to support children and families through holiday gift programs. He's also championed literacy by collaborating with the Oakland Park Library to bring Little Libraries to the Coral Heights neighborhood.

Chris's proactive approach has sparked numerous initiatives now under consideration at City Commission meetings. He actively worked with city staff and the Archdiocese of Miami to negotiate keeping Cherry Creek Park open for residents. Additionally, Chris is a staunch supporter of small businesses, championing grants and creating opportunities for them to thrive until the city's growth vision is fully realized.

Before dedicating himself to serving Oakland Park, Chris excelled as an Emmy and Associated Press Award-winning sports journalist for NBC Miami and the NFL on CBS. He brings that journalistic mindset to his community work, actively listening, staying informed, and asking the tough questions that matter to his neighbors.

Chris Fischer, a devoted family man, passionate advocate, respected community and business leader, selfless volunteer, and trusted voice, is committed to "Empowering Neighborhoods and Inspiring Progress." He would be honored to receive your vote for Oakland Park Commissioner, where he will guide our city into its next century.
